DJ Khaled joined in fall of 2015 snapping inspirational and motivational keys to life and success. He was real with his fans. Unpolished content is native to Snapchat. With the freedom to post anything many jumped in to unleash their creativity. Babies and cute animals always win, hands down. Snapchat 101
There are no hashtags for discoverability. The long term game is played by branding-and-marketing people. Every single snap need to leave them with something. The only way to live long enough for people to discover you is to cross-pollinate with other platforms. Draw awareness to it through Twitter, Youtube and Website. You can send emails with snapcode as well on your T-Shirt or you could use custom Geofilters.

He saw engagement at the center of the platform. He treated Snapchat like a business. Het set himself a series of goals and the first one was to grow an audience through creative collaboration and engagement by doodling. He would make people laugh. He googled to draw simple doodles. His first collaboration was with artist Michael Platco. Goal number two was to get press. The only way Snapchatters could give their content a longer lifespan is with a permanent online presence. His mother contacted a media outlet to feature him. He wrote e-mails in his mother’s voice promoting himself to big medias. The media attention snowballed. Disney listed his name and so other brands followed. He started to develop his YouTube channel to post behind the scenes of his Snapchat Stories. He continued giving talks including TED Talk. He is also creating branded content for brands. What’s the secret to his success? Personal relationships. Develop real relationships and provide value and just give, give, give.
